1.  first of all when my family supports my siblings and i when playing a lot of sports.
2. They also encourage us to try our best t in our learning. 
3.  using our manners is very important in our culture because its very rude to not use our manners
4. having  a positive attitude is also one we all follow. 
5. Spending time together is when we go to the beach with our church and we all spend time with each other.
6. When were all together were building a bond with each other
7.  Sticking up for each other when things go wrong. 
8. my family sometimes supports our decisions.
9.  Having a good relationship with the kids our age and also the little ones 
10. Spending time with each other even in tough times.

#Home learning - THE WAY OF THE SAMURAI

In for this week I have chosen a book I thought would be very interesting to share with who ever is reading this. It is called, THE WAY OF THE SAMURAI. The titled defiantly caught my eye, and which is the reason I choose this book. 'Okay now lets start sharing some crazy information about the book. At the start Geronimo was having his typical Saturday night routine. He was scrolling through a photo album reminding him of all the crazy adventures he's taken . He was wearing his typical Saturday night outfit with a light on and sitting on his comfortable chair. All of a sudden the phone was ringing.   Coming from the other side was someone asking Geronimo if he was ready for an adventure with a deep voice. Geronimo gulped. It was his treasure - hunting friend, Wild Willie! He had Called geronimo and wanted him to meet him tonight at eight thirty at 18 south paw Square. And ways let's just skip a few pages forward to the real part of the storey. In this part of the book wild Willie and Geronimo were off to Japan in search of a legendary ancient samurai scroll that holds the secret to a long-lost fighting technique. The scroll had fallen into the wrong hands, it was up to them two to save the day. All of a sudden in the book I came upon a sentence saying they first thing they had to do was to fight a group of talented ninjas. I'm sure geronimo was scared because he wasn't a trained taught ninja. But geronimo sill did it and tried even if he was never taught.  

How to be a good host!!!!

“How do you want to show people you are a good host!?? Well here are some steps you can follow along”. When you come upon a knock on your door always remember to open it straight away. Don’t let the person on the other side of the door wait for such a long time. Unless you were just cleaning up. By the way when I mentioned cleaning up it is very polite to clean up because you need to present the house well and neatly. It's rude to let someone in your house and then them seeing such a big mess, It looks like you don’t care about them and it doesn't matter how messy it is. So remember PRESENT THE HOUSE WELL. After seeing all that mess I don’t think that person would want to come back to your house ever again neither would I, so take care of that part and memorize it.  And always remember to be happy and be very funny, It helps a lot. So I hope you’ve got that information. Okay let's start. To be a good host you are to first warmly welcome that person or a large group coming into your house happily with a huge smile. That just passes your happiness to that person because of your smile and again the happiness. You are always to remember that when someone is in your house you have to present your house well. Have you done that, okay..  In my family we are always taught that those who knock at the door are most welcomed into our house and is wormly offered a drink of their choice and a little snack to go with it. When you let them into your house you need them to be greeted very well and should be greeted well so they are comfortable with you. Asking them politely things is a great way to show them how nice you are to people. All it takes to be a good host is from knowing the right thing to do when there are visitors in your house. When guiding them to your living room make sure someone is already prepared with them a drink and probably some biscuits. Try and bring up a conversation. In my family the conversations go on forever. When my cousins come over our parents talk forever. That's when they stay longer at our house. Make them think there at home by treating them with a happy smile and some joyful speaking. In My family after we have big feeds when people come over We always give them the leftovers to them and they take it home. It is very rude in my culture not to give any food. Even If they say no we still give to them. It is a sign of sharing and caring. 

My thoughts about blogging ??

My thoughts about blogging?? To me blogging is when I get to show people all the great things I do here in team 5 all throughout the year. It is showing people that learning is fun and that Pt england School loves to be creative in learning. We always put a lot of effort into our learning If you've checked our blogs and have seen so many interesting things that everyone is up to. Our blogs are created for people all over new zealand and the world to see what we do. It is shared with the community and our families to see what fun things we are up to here in our school.  I feel like having a blog is great because we get to express our self in our learning we do and show fun ways to present these. Just like when we add things  to our google slides some of us are very creative with it and add fun things into it. What is very good is that the students that take their chromebook home can blog anything  fun there doing or a vacation there looking forward to during the year. Or it could be about something great they learnet at home by there family  and they can show that on their blog. I love to blog about fun things, like what fun things I might be doing in the upcoming holiday or even in the weekends. I can even share some great books I read. Anyways these are my thoughts about blogging. 

Week 4 Tech - Building a salad bowl

Today is Tuesday which means we had tech. Today we were building a salad bowl with our partners. Me and my partner kesaia first of all got all of our utensils from our little trolley that each kitchen got. We next followed the instructions step by step. Me and kesaia did different stuff so then we can get all of it done just to make is faster and for us to mix it all together. there were two sides in the cooking area. The other students on the other side of the room got to have chicken and rice when they start building their salads and we got noodles and tuna. we added different types of veggies like Salad, shredded carrots, cucumber, tomatoes and this long skinny looking grass thing which we had to chop into little pieces and to me smelled like onions. It was a pretty long process compared to the first week and that's what made it more exciting and meant more things to do. after adding all the veggies and noodles and the tuna into a bowl it was time to add the salt and pepper that would add some flavor into it, we then added the flavoring packets from the noodles into it. It was then the time to mix it and start to clean the area we cooked in. Well I was mixing it kesaia was washing the dishes. Once I've finish mixing it and adding it into the containers we brang I then washed the counters. To day was a very fun and great experience we had making this salad. After trying it we were all amazed by it and loved it. Can't wait for what's coming up next week at tech.!!!

Last week a group of kind and caring people came to our school. They were called lazy sneakers.  They were so kind the only reason they came to our school was to give shoes to those who needed covered shoes for either sports or its just there parents are way to busy to get shoes for them. They gave about 100 pairs of shoes for those who are intrested and needed it. This all started by a young girl named Maia Mariner, she is currently 15 and she is very interested to give shoes to kids who love to play sports but can not play it due to the footwear. Here's a picture of her in the center of the photo. The reason she started this was when she was in school feeling very sad that she couldn't play basketball due to footwear. That's what motivated her to do this kind thing. We would like to say a huge thank you to her and her group that organized this and to make it happen. We are all thank full for her generosity.

What my family does to ensure I am "Physically" Well???

1. First of all they feed me the right food and makes sure I at least eat something healthy.
2. I usually go to the netball courts to train and practice on shootings, which help to at least keep me active.
3. My mum makes sure I at least read a book before I go to bed which just helps my brain activate.
4.  Keeping active in doing chores.
5. In my family we have a certain time we go to bed. The time were getting ready for bed is  at 9:00, Its just so we wake up and not so drowsy in the morning.
6. Sometimes me my aunty and mum go for walks up the mountain or around other area as well. Its just so we can stay active during the day.
7.  Eating breakfast, lunch and dinner at the right time.
8. My parents always makes sure me and my siblings participate in school activities. 
9. To increase my physical well being is eating 5 plus a day. 
10. Learn how to manage any health conditions I have, or that run in my family. 

My writing about "Rules" !!

In today's writing we are going to be talking about “rules”. Why do we have rules in this world? Is it more important than we think, or is it just there for fun?. Everyone knows that there's rules everywhere we go. Rules are very serious in most places. The Reason why we are talking about rules is because most people get hurt every year for not following the rules. These can be caused by car crashes and speeding on the road and forgetting there's other people around them and could get into serious damage.

I’m not sure if you’ve noticed but for example if you were at a public indoor swimming pool there's always rules inside the area. In an indoor swimming pool there's usually a sign of the rules to remind you that there's things you can’t do around the area. Those are to prevent you from doing the wrong things and from getting you hurt and also could be the people around you. It's also great for you to notice that there's kids around and they could see you doing the wrong thing and decided to think there aloud to do it but then they end up getting hurt. A rule we all should know when we're in a public swimming pool is that we have to walk around the area  because running around could get you hurt. Why, because the water people carry around makes the floor slippery after getting out of the water. 

Rules are there for you to enjoy whatever you're doing. It also helps you to remember that the rules can help you to keep yourself safe around the area and to help you do the right thing. And I know sometimes you can get too excited and forget the rules and what you are not supposed to do. Just from that lots of people get seriously hurt and can damage a lot of parts in their body. The Reason why we have rules is because they control everything that's happening in the area. And I hope you get a message from reading this and can always remember there always rules.

#Home Learning 2020 - A FABUMOUSE VACATION FOR GERONIMO

Hello, and welcome back to my blog. This weeks book for my home work is another Geronimo Stilton book. Titled, A FABUMOUSE VACATION FOR GERONIMO. Just as I was reading the first page I have already come through Geronimo having a smoothing bath getting ready for the day. So far on the book it has been very bizarre, Its started with a crazy double loop as if you were on a roller coaster. After his smoothing bath he headed to his office, the Rodents Gazette....
And if we go a few pages forward we will end up at a time Geronimo finds out his printing machine is down and not working. He quickly called a few people he new that could perhaps fix his printing machine before he was going to his luxury vacation. sadly all the people he called were either busy or gone to vacation. All of a sudden he clicked and remembered an old pal of his grandfather that he new could fix the printer. He called in FURDRICK FIXIT. In just a few minutes FURDRICK had already arrive. Finally Geronimo had someone to rely on. And so on in the book a few pages forward Geronimo is having hard times remembering he is suppose to go on his flight to his vacation but ends up getting carried away and having to miss most of the places he is given to by his agent. And this is so far of the amount of information on book on what it could be about. Properly after I am going to read some more and perhaps share it with you in the next days once I know a lot about the book and I've finished it. This book is making me so excited for whats coming up next. You never know, It could end very badly or smoothly and that will mean Geronimo would have a great vacation, but we are not 100% sure. Anyways This is my book I'm currently reading and I hope  you've catched some information about it.

Working out math questions

Today in my math class was super bizarre. We had to get in to pairs and work on answering the questions on our test most of us didn't get right. We had a paper to work on to try and find conclusions to get to the answer. It was pretty tough but when the answer and the way to work it out was told to us we clicked and it all made sense. This is a little picture of the paper we worked on to work out these questions. My partner was Jedida, here's  a link on here name for you to check out her blog and to find out how she felt about the questions. It took a lot of hard work but we managed to figure out a  way. The last question felt more easier because we got a mind set on how we could work it out. And that was a day of me in my math class.

Paragraph 1: Introduce who you are (things like your culture, family, age)


Malo e Lelei and greetings. To Start of by introducing myself my name is Deborah. I am currently 11 years old and turning 12 in August. I was born right here in New Zealand, Auckland. Both of my parents are from tonga. On my mum's side I just have a bit of samoan in my blood like I said from my mom's side. I come from a family of six including my parents. I am the oldest out of my siblings and is sadly the only girl. In my family the only cultures we speak is English and Tonagan. I love all my cultures I hold in my family and I’m proud to be a part of the culture.




Paragraph 2: What are some of your interests or favourite things ?


I love sports so much and enjoy it very much. I am a huge netball fan, especially a silver ferns fan.It is My hobby when it comes to summer. I especially enjoy playing Netball and rugby. I mainly enjoy netball because I play it majority of the time I play sports. I really enjoy the hard work that comes out of the game and the fun times me and my team have fun. I love to be really active in sports and love to play it with friends. So far this year I am hopefully wanting to play as many sports as I can. In netball I really look up to a player in the silver ferns, and her name is Maria Folau. She has been my favorite netball player ever since I’ve started to play netball. I love how she plays netball and her technique shooting. She is a great person to look up to when you love this sport.





Paragraph 3: What do you like and dislike at school? What are your goals for 2020?


My all time favorite subject is math but I’m starting to like writing more. At the moment I'm enjoying writing and make the writing interesting and fun to read. I love to use big words sometimes but not as much. In my writing I try to make it like I said fun but also clear and Interesting to read. I love reading as well. My favorite chapter books I love to read are Geronimo Stilton books. I love to read them because they have clear sentences that make the writing make sense and helps me Imagine what's going on in my head. They are interesting books that make me want to read the whole book in one go. I love the adventurist kind books, they are just very mysterious and it makes you want to read more. With math I love to learn from the problem and hopefully help me next time with the other works I do. My goals for this year are to do well in all my subjects and work hard at school and home. I will try and push myself to practice the things I’m a bit stuck on and improve on those mistakes. I am wanting to take a big step in my learning and try my best this year.

Paragraph 4: What does a good teacher do? How can Mrs Tele’a support you this year?

When teachers comment on my work on my blog it is very helpful to me in ways. It helps me fix the mistakes and helps me learn for them next time. I can get the thoughts from them and some ways to fix my work. The comments I receive from people, they help me to feel good about myself and helps me notice I’m doing the right thing and is doing okay in what I’m work i'm doing .






Is there anything else you would like Mrs Tele’a to know about you?

I would like Mrs Tele’a to know that sometimes I need the teacher to explain more about the work and then I’ll get it. If I know how the work is done then it will make sense in my head. But most of the time I can work with it and will know what's going on.

#Home Learning 2020 - Geronimo Stilton PAWS OFF, CHEDDAR FACE!

Hi, Today I'm going to be sharing you a book I read called GERONIMO STILTON - PAWS OFF, CHEEDAR FACE. In just two days I've finish my book and decided to share it with you guys.  The book was very fun to read and interesting. The Descriptive information was very helpful to know what was going on in the book. So this doesn't take along time to read I'll just write a short version of the book I read. So the book is obviously based on the main character in the book which is Geronimo, Geronimo Stilton. He is a famous book writer in the book. In a shook, weird things started to happen to him. People were angry at him for reasons he doesn't even know he did. All the people he knew were complaining about him. once in the book it said that when he was just doing his normal routine he normally does every morning. He was going to the shops to get a news paper, the shop keeper said " Geronimo are you coming to get another  newspaper". Geronimo looked at the shopkeeper confused. " Excuse me, I didn't come here earlier today. only now". Geronimo was very confused. During the few pages of the book Geronimo and his sister and cousin Found out that there was someone Identical to him and was working  with someone Geronimo knew and took over the rodents gazette which is where Geronimo's books are all published and made. He couldn't let that happen so him and his sister and cousin had a way to get back the Rodents gazette and stop every thing that was happening and return it all back to normal.  And I'll stop here, I hope this gave you a few information about what the books about and If you want to you could try and find this at the Library. I recommend you read this because it very interesting and mysterious. 

#Home Learning 2020

For my Home work we had to pick any book to read that we owned and read it. My book that I read is called MICEKINGS - THE FAMOUS FJORD RACE, It is one of Geronimo Stiltons books. The author of the book is Elisabetta Dami . I didn't read the whole book but I only read a little bit that I know I'll have quiet a lot of information about what the book could be about. So far on the part I read on the book starts with a Young man called Geronimo. He was currently in a deep dream thinking it was in real life. In his Dream he woke up to see the village celebrating a special occasion. He was about to receive his first mice king helmet, which was there highest honor. He was walking on the streets seeing rodents greeting him with huge smiles and pawshakes. once he got to the town square All he could hear is the sound of Mice cheering his name and calling him a hero. He got crowned by the chief of the village, Sven the shouter. After he got given his special helmet he walked happily past all the rodents crowding around him. That was so far of what I read , but just a small version. So far on what I read I feel like when he stops dreaming something could go really good for him or bad for him. But thats my book. I hope you found this book quiet interesting And hopefully would want to red this book a time you could fin one.

Fact about my groups Author- David Riley

Hello , Welcome back again to my blog. Today I'm going to be sharing some facts about David Riley because my reading group is named after to him. All of our groups are named after to authors so as Paul Jennings, Patricia grace, Maurice Gee, David Riley, and Alan Duff. My Reading group is named after to David Riley like I said in the start. Thais is what I've learnt about him. He was born in 1966 right here in New Zealand.

He is currently a Children's writer who publish's Books for young readers. Known as a Children writer David Riley is also a Drama teacher at Tangaroa College in Otara Where he has taught many kids ever since 1997. David Riley has a specialty of writing books about Pacific Islanders and adventures and also the great places these adventures take place. Their adventures he writes about attaches so many young kids eyes to his books .
