UNSCHOOLED 🏫

Task Description: Today I wanted to share you a fast little peace of writing about my book I have been reading lately. I felt like it had a little meaning in it between friendship and that nothing should get past that. Not only that but working as a team and because of that you can win with a great knowing that you all managed to achieve something together as a team. But taking this little bit of writing has really shown an understanding to the little moral they are trying to get out. I hope you've found this peace of information about my book and that you can enjoy it if you get to read it one day.

Tongan Identity!

Task Description: Tongan Identity is about what makes us and what we follow. Here is four things that make up our Tongan identity.

Ko e founga hono ma'ue Tonga a hono Hingoa

How Tonga got its name - Reading Warrior

Long before Tonga was around there lived a pacific hero that roamed the pacific ocean searching for a place to find an island. And his name was Maui, the great legendary hero of the pacific ocean. He needed a hook to use to find a island so he went to Samoa and found a man who was called 'Tonga tau mata'u' ! Maui went to the man's little workshop to see if the man would lend a hook for Maui to use. Maui had a conversation with Tonga and he agreed to get out his hooks for Maui to choose only if Maui would name the island after him. Maui made a promise to name the island after Tonga but before he was off to find the island he had to choose a hook. Tonga took out his collection of hooks for Maui to choose. All of them were bright colors and were stunning. But Maui had caught something else and it was a scrubby and dirty old blue hook! Maui choose that hook which had Tonga confused as in why he choose that hook but Tonga was fine with it and then off Maui was in search for a Island. Maui searched and searched and ended up finding a green peace of island that he caught down the bed of the ocean. He than got ready to pull the island up to where he was by getting his hook and throwing it down wards to the island. Maui pulled the island up to the ocean's surface. " It's beautiful " said Maui. "I will call it Tonga as promised "!  THE END!  This book was written by David Riley If you are wondering. This book was super creative and fun to listen to as our teacher was reading it.

The Legend of Kava Tonga

The legend of kava Tonga is one of the most known stories in Tonga. My aunty told me the story once and it was pretty sad to hear about. So there lived a couple that were Tongan and only had one kid which was their daughter ' Kava '! They didn't have much at the island because they were the only ones that lived there and besides, the island wasn't able to grow things live fruits or anything eatable. One day the king and his men's came to the island where the couple and their daughter lived to rest and find food. The king ordered his men's to go and find some food for them to eat well the king stayed and rest. One particular man went deep into the green and dark mini jungle and some how bummed into the couple. The man asked the couple if they had any food anywhere to take to the king to eat. The man and his wife agreed to find some food although they knew they didn't have any thing that was eatable in the island. So the kings man left in search for a place to rest before going ahead and finding some food. The couple went some where to think about what they were going to do because they had no meat in the island for the king to eat. My aunty told me that the couple had to kill their only daughter so then the king would be able to eat some meat. The daughter was very sick and so the couple already knew that she would die. They decided to Barry her because the king refused to and he said to not do anything and just leave her to rest. The king thanked them for the tough decision they had to make and for the sacrifice. The king and his men's together with the couple gathered around the place they berried her. A few days later the couple's returned to where their daughter was berried and found two things growing on top which was kava and sugar cane. They saw a little mouse eat the kava and for some reason the mouse was walking as if it was drowsy. The mouse then ate the sugar cane and then got better as he walked away. But this was a pretty rough going Story but it's a great way to learn the story behind kava and what's important about it in the Tongan way.

For example, this Tongan proverb is saying in Tongan that we always have someone in life we rely on at  tough times and that we can count on their experience to help and manage the situation. And by showing an easy way of a understandings is by an image that can consider the meaning of the proverb. And that is all we did for today's te whare tapa wha!

I am gladly proud to say I am Tongan but a proud one that lives in New Zealand but still takes her culture as a priority. This week is very important for me and for my fellow Tongans as it is a week of celebrating the place where our ancestors came from. It's also a time of learn about our culture and it's history. The reason why it's called Tongan languages because we are trying to keep the culture going even in this modern time. Compound Sentences / Extra!

Task Description: The same as the recent post about compound sentences this is just the rest of them for you to check it out. For those who don't know what a compound sentence is, a compound sentence has at least two independent clauses that have related ideas.
