Spring tour 1981 - Nelson Mandela !



Task Description: This is one of three tasks for reading this week and it is about the springbok tour, New Zealand vs South Africa. On the last page we had to make I guess a poster of Nelson Mandela for this task and all things we've learn't about him on the videos and information given to us. Check it out !

Rambunctious Ratio !



Task Description: This is an extra math task for math this week and it is all about rambunctious ratio. By working out these questions we had to use a pacific method which is getting the two main numbers said in the question and put it into a ratio. Check it out for more !

Equal Fraction !



Task Description: This weeks math was based on equal fractions, in this task we had to find out the answer to the equation by showing it by drawing a circle and explain our working out. To go with that we also go given some choices of games to do with the task.

Venn Diagram



Task Description: This is the third task for reading this week and there will be more to come. This is a Venn diagram, a Venn diagram is when you write down the differences on there own circle and once you finish that you write the similarities of each other in the middle. There were many topics in the book and for that we had to pick two topics to use in this task.

Word of the Day ( Grateful )



Task Description: If you remember from my last blog posts you can see that we are starting to do this thing when my teacher gives us a word and with that word we get picture or write somethings that remind's us of that word. I know it was on paper before but my teacher decided to change it because It wasn't that good to look at from bad camera lighting so this is what we decided to do instead. The word for this week is (Grateful) and here are the things I'm grateful for.

Comprehension Question's!



Task Description: This is the second reading task for this week and it is all about comprehension questions, meaning the way to answer the questions is by getting the answers from the book.  There was a whole lot of reading for this task because I had to try and find the answers. Our book is called , Stand up. In the book it was telling me about the different protests that happened in New Zealand.

Special Assembly!


What is the Biosphere?



Task Description: Sorry for not posting an inquiry for last week but here it is. The sphere we have from last week is Biosphere and that is what I will be sharing with you. Inquiry for the week is going to be doing the one from last week and here it is. This week the inquiry was based on the Biosphere, one of the four spheres. I've learn't so much about the biosphere such as what the biosphere is and all that stuff. I've also learn't a little Greek word and that is life. The word bio from biosphere in Greek is life. That was a bit of a little learning experience for me and how to say life in Greek.

The Story of Matariki!



Task Description: This task you see here is our reading for the week. If you live in New Zealand or is familiar with this then you might have noticed that the title says, The Story of Matariki. Matariki is next week and that is why we are using this as our topic for the week. For those who are not familiar with this it is the Maori new year. I know it may sound a bit different but it is a traditional celebration celebrated here in New Zealand. A time to start growing our plants and traditionally said , remembering the dead and celebrating a new life. Creative time - Word of the day ( Peace )


Task Description: Because we have finished doing our te whare tapa wha's every single day my teacher has thought of something we could do for the time we usually do our te whare tapa wha with something else. What we are now going to be doing everyday beside's our te whare tapa wha is creative time. This is when we get a peace of paper and Mrs will give us a word. What we do with the paper is write the word we've been given in bold. With that we draw or write things that pop up in our head something that reminds us of the word. For our first day our word was ( Peace ) and here is what I drew and wrote on the peace of paper.

Identity - Creating a word cloud


Task Description: This task is apart of our reading for the week and it is all about identity because in the book it talks about a girl who is an afakasi meaning she is Samoan in palagi. So what we had to do was create a word cloud image describing important aspects of our identity. Meaning our hobbies favorite things to do and things that are important to you like your heritage

Task Description: Today's taha challenge was very easy because all we had to do was hold a yoga tree pose for 1 minute.
