Dear Mrs Tele’a,

Paragraph 1: Introduce who you are (things like your culture, family, age)


Malo e Lelei and greetings. To Start of by introducing myself my name is Deborah. I am currently 11 years old and turning 12 in August. I was born right here in New Zealand, Auckland. Both of my parents are from tonga. On my mum's side I just have a bit of samoan in my blood like I said from my mom's side. I come from a family of six including my parents. I am the oldest out of my siblings and is sadly the only girl. In my family the only cultures we speak is English and Tonagan. I love all my cultures I hold in my family and I’m proud to be a part of the culture.




Paragraph 2: What are some of your interests or favourite things ?


I love sports so much and enjoy it very much. I am a huge netball fan, especially a silver ferns fan.It is My hobby when it comes to summer. I especially enjoy playing Netball and rugby. I mainly enjoy netball because I play it majority of the time I play sports. I really enjoy the hard work that comes out of the game and the fun times me and my team have fun. I love to be really active in sports and love to play it with friends. So far this year I am hopefully wanting to play as many sports as I can. In netball I really look up to a player in the silver ferns, and her name is Maria Folau. She has been my favorite netball player ever since I’ve started to play netball. I love how she plays netball and her technique shooting. She is a great person to look up to when you love this sport.





Paragraph 3: What do you like and dislike at school? What are your goals for 2020?


My all time favorite subject is math but I’m starting to like writing more. At the moment I'm enjoying writing and make the writing interesting and fun to read. I love to use big words sometimes but not as much. In my writing I try to make it like I said fun but also clear and Interesting to read. I love reading as well. My favorite chapter books I love to read are Geronimo Stilton books. I love to read them because they have clear sentences that make the writing make sense and helps me Imagine what's going on in my head. They are interesting books that make me want to read the whole book in one go. I love the adventurist kind books, they are just very mysterious and it makes you want to read more. With math I love to learn from the problem and hopefully help me next time with the other works I do. My goals for this year are to do well in all my subjects and work hard at school and home. I will try and push myself to practice the things I’m a bit stuck on and improve on those mistakes. I am wanting to take a big step in my learning and try my best this year.

Paragraph 4: What does a good teacher do? How can Mrs Tele’a support you this year?

When teachers comment on my work on my blog it is very helpful to me in ways. It helps me fix the mistakes and helps me learn for them next time. I can get the thoughts from them and some ways to fix my work. The comments I receive from people, they help me to feel good about myself and helps me notice I’m doing the right thing and is doing okay in what I’m work i'm doing .






Is there anything else you would like Mrs Tele’a to know about you?

I would like Mrs Tele’a to know that sometimes I need the teacher to explain more about the work and then I’ll get it. If I know how the work is done then it will make sense in my head. But most of the time I can work with it and will know what's going on.

#Home Learning 2020 - Geronimo Stilton PAWS OFF, CHEDDAR FACE!

Hi, Today I'm going to be sharing you a book I read called GERONIMO STILTON - PAWS OFF, CHEEDAR FACE. In just two days I've finish my book and decided to share it with you guys.  The book was very fun to read and interesting. The Descriptive information was very helpful to know what was going on in the book. So this doesn't take along time to read I'll just write a short version of the book I read. So the book is obviously based on the main character in the book which is Geronimo, Geronimo Stilton. He is a famous book writer in the book. In a shook, weird things started to happen to him. People were angry at him for reasons he doesn't even know he did. All the people he knew were complaining about him. once in the book it said that when he was just doing his normal routine he normally does every morning. He was going to the shops to get a news paper, the shop keeper said " Geronimo are you coming to get another  newspaper". Geronimo looked at the shopkeeper confused. " Excuse me, I didn't come here earlier today. only now". Geronimo was very confused. During the few pages of the book Geronimo and his sister and cousin Found out that there was someone Identical to him and was working  with someone Geronimo knew and took over the rodents gazette which is where Geronimo's books are all published and made. He couldn't let that happen so him and his sister and cousin had a way to get back the Rodents gazette and stop every thing that was happening and return it all back to normal.  And I'll stop here, I hope this gave you a few information about what the books about and If you want to you could try and find this at the Library. I recommend you read this because it very interesting and mysterious. 

#Home Learning 2020

For my Home work we had to pick any book to read that we owned and read it. My book that I read is called MICEKINGS - THE FAMOUS FJORD RACE, It is one of Geronimo Stiltons books. The author of the book is Elisabetta Dami . I didn't read the whole book but I only read a little bit that I know I'll have quiet a lot of information about what the book could be about. So far on the part I read on the book starts with a Young man called Geronimo. He was currently in a deep dream thinking it was in real life. In his Dream he woke up to see the village celebrating a special occasion. He was about to receive his first mice king helmet, which was there highest honor. He was walking on the streets seeing rodents greeting him with huge smiles and pawshakes. once he got to the town square All he could hear is the sound of Mice cheering his name and calling him a hero. He got crowned by the chief of the village, Sven the shouter. After he got given his special helmet he walked happily past all the rodents crowding around him. That was so far of what I read , but just a small version. So far on what I read I feel like when he stops dreaming something could go really good for him or bad for him. But thats my book. I hope you found this book quiet interesting And hopefully would want to red this book a time you could fin one.

Fact about my groups Author- David Riley

Hello , Welcome back again to my blog. Today I'm going to be sharing some facts about David Riley because my reading group is named after to him. All of our groups are named after to authors so as Paul Jennings, Patricia grace, Maurice Gee, David Riley, and Alan Duff. My Reading group is named after to David Riley like I said in the start. Thais is what I've learnt about him. He was born in 1966 right here in New Zealand.

He is currently a Children's writer who publish's Books for young readers. Known as a Children writer David Riley is also a Drama teacher at Tangaroa College in Otara Where he has taught many kids ever since 1997. David Riley has a specialty of writing books about Pacific Islanders and adventures and also the great places these adventures take place. Their adventures he writes about attaches so many young kids eyes to his books .
